Civil Engineer

Hansen Thorp Pellinen Olson, Inc. (HTPO) has a terrific opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer with eight or more years of experience interested in providing hands-on design and project management for a variety of public and private sector clients.  We are a small business located in Eden Prairie that manages a diverse portfolio of project types and sizes.

In a typical week you may:

• Provide management and design for engineering projects including preparing proposals, team communications, scheduling, budgeting, and client billing
• Play the lead role in design and coordination of site development, transportation, drainage, and utility projects
• Communicate and meet with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials
• Provide training, mentorship and assistance for other engineers and staff and coordinate with other design team members on a consistent basis
• Develop client relationships and apply marketing strategies for business development

You need to have:

• 8+ years of experience in civil engineering design
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads CAD software
• Degree in civil engineering and Professional Licensure in Minnesota
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Proven ability to develop technical specifications, construction estimates, and other project documents, including managing regulatory permits and applications
• Field observation experience and an understanding of construction
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
