HTPO's full service planning, design and construction team consists of civil engineers, land surveyors, landscape architects, construction managers, planners, client managers, drafting and administrative staff, along with solid leadership that has guided the company for over three decades.

Current Opportunities


Survey field technician to support and assist crew chiefs with field surveying for all types of boundary surveys, topographic surveys and construction layout. Survey field technician responsibilities include assisting with set up and operation of equipment and instruments to measure, record and calculate data for construction staking and other types of surveying. Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) or NSPS Survey Technician Certification is a plus.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Two years’ experience in surveying or construction
  • Experience with, or ability to learn, Leica GPS and Robotic Total Station
  • Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information, communicate with employees, clients/contractors and the general public, and to maintain routine written logs and simple records
  • Acceptable driving record and valid Class D driver’s license.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to work extended hours, including some weekends, to accommodate Contractor’s schedule
  • Ability to travel, including some overnight stays, if needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and terrain conditions
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time.


Responsibilities include research, reports, computations, plan preparation, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, permit applications, meetings, and project team coordination.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum two years of experience
  • EIT registration a plus
  • Experience with drafting and design in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Being self-motivated, and able to work both individually and as a team member
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information, communicate with employees, clients/contractors and the general public
